Not content to merely watch my period dramas, I am also inspired to design patterns or recipes from the past. I am fascinated by what women made in the past, from the Countess to the housemaid what did they embroider, sew or cook?
Drawing on original sources such as books and museum objects from the 18th and 19th century, I am creating designs and recipes that are what women made in the past but also adapted to our modern taste buds and crafty dreams.
I'm having lots of fun baking and creating. The book is due out June 2013.
